Dig,Dig, Diggedig, Dig! and Look Forward!:)

I rarely blog on two different things without trying to maintain coherence. But in view of my 'artistic' feelings today, I shall give no two hoots about being a rambling dodder. Onward march ye to my colourful shrubbery of thoughts!

Me & Exams = Me with a shovel and a treasure buried 10 ft. under ground that I must get my paws on. Yes. Deeper than digging a grave Simply meaning that dying seems so much easier when the stress of cramming your entire span of learning into a meagre amount of 2 or 3 hours. The shovel? My brain. The treasure? Satisfaction for the rest of my humble years. Lifelong Regret does not exist for anything you've done your best in. At the most, it's Modest/Perfectionist Regret which NORMAL people GET OVER by a month at the most. Okay okay enough with the weird analogy. But, the cramming process really sucks doesn't it? Agree?

Agreed.

With exam dreads over and the make-believe Doom's Day dateline well-expired for a week, added with the resounding jingles of holiday bells deafening my ears, I am sitting here in the middle of my long-awaited break and.............

I know EXACTLY what I want.

A holiday! Yes. I am in a holiday wanting a holiday. Or at least looking forward to a holiday... which will officially begin tomorrow! WHEE!

Now, anticipation aside, before i have an excitement disorder, I would like to expound on the real content of today's blog-o-rama.

Everyone looks forward to something.

Exams ------> Holiday, Holiday ------> Back to life before.

Everything is a phase. A new epoch begins everytime. Life is a cycle. Is it not cool that there is always something to look forward in life? After a failure, look forward for the next opportunity. When we miss a bus, look forward for the next. When we can't wrap a dumpling professionally, look forward to the next dumpling-wrapping event! Who wants a perfect life? Then you will have nothing to look forward to BUMMER!

Thus, the moral of the story is: Despite what manhole we fall through, what Doom's Day is approaching, what impending enjoyment we will encounter........................... LOOK FORWARD.............. Some wise professional 'lookers' are so trained that they look BEYOND the mountain blocking the gorgeous view of the..........(fill in the blanks with what personally takes your breath away... I don't know! ) Maybe after we learn looking forward to rain or shine, we can kick it up a notch to the professional-lookerism-course.

Don't wait till life hits you hard in the face to get up and look for it's beauty.

Carpe Diem! Life is God's gift to us! LOOK FORWARD!!!!! and beyond........

look forward

Everyday Is A Unique Day

Hearing the hoo-ha on today being 2006 2006 and how unique it is, I could not help but think to myself, everyday is unique in its own way. There are never two identical days. Each filled with its own clamour, serenity, craze, blues and yahoos.

Back from a fulfilling holiday, gratefulness abounds in me. Been burrowing through law with my sifu and got a short glimpse of C.S Lewis' Mere Christianity to keep my mind a-moving. Got me many books to keep my mind thinking. One thing I learnt: to pray. Thoroughly grateful for the many theology discussions in the past weeks. Enjoyed it as I always do.

Every month in my planner, on the calender page, I pen down a personal quote a.k.a inspiration to adopt, to help drive my decisions and to retain in life.  I want to share this month's equation with you:

USEFUL = Time + Planning + Punctuality + Hardwork - Daydreaming

REST      = Satisfaction + Peace + Stability + Order - Worry

My attempt to drill this into daily practice is in progress. Usefulness determines my digging speed, and makes the journey all the more worth it. Using everything given to me to the best I can is one of the many ways love is shown, to the Lord and to people. This entry is rather boring, you might say. Lest, I do hope that the little that I learn daily and not-so-often pen here, may help you in your journey too.

I have also come to realise that finding one's strength in another's weakness makes all the difference than finding weakness in another's strength. To have a positive outlook is one, to focus on changing one's self for the better despite the unease that one faces, is another. The latter displays great wisdom and true humility.

Although everyday brings a different air to it, one thing I am sure, remains the same: the constant 'tug' of the Law of Morality and Human Nature (C.S Lewis) which compels us to do right over wrong, to instil good principles over bad ones and above all, to be useful beings. This is my daily journey. An inquisitive journey in learning to be wiser and more useful- I would depict as 'gathering food and water to store in the drought'. The drought comes no doubt, to all of us. Unique days, we all have. Unique lessons hidden, in everyone.
