Do You Read Me? :)

KOO KOOS NOOS! German for coconut.

That's what I feel like. Dry on the outside and juicy on the inside. My blog has been dead. Oh dear... what a sore sight haha! My inspirations are being thrown around daily so I can never find a solid whole subject matter to write about. Somebody needs to break me in half and let my juices out!

Basically, you know how people start writing for leisure, slowly evolving to a heightened quality of literature and some................. just write

I have an inclination that I'm somewhere subsumed in between the two very different elements mentioned above. The difference is the mens rea part. Ah! Utter crap lah my law applications

Basically, I am the latter in nature but swept up and thrown in a rather rude fashion into the former Hence, my procrastination in journalling with the masses

Basically, I always do not feel inspired enough and the guilt portion of not getting even close to the former, really irks..

CLEARLY, the triple usage of 'basically' depicts my lack of vocabulary, something I want to subjugate but would be grateful enough if I can successfully subdue my inane thoughts.

Don't get me wrong!! I do write  An approach I took to making my studies a more insightful experience, (I always have this 'heightening disorder') was to take what I can get out of life and use everything for good. Improvement NEVER does one any harm.

For example, one can really learn from writing. Writing about Napoleon, I get inspired by how a man small in stature had ambitions the size of everything else higher than his height. Writing about Truman, I learn the bravery that a man can have and the extent of power that brings good and bad effects. Writing about law, I know that absolute power corrupts and that everyone is born with a conscience and a will. ...................

Writing here, I know that one's thoughts can never be expressed to its fullest form the way it is firstly concieved in the mind. Words are inadequate and often fallible.

One can select to take the literal approach or one can take the purposive approach. Either way, to misconstrue would only be a detriment, NEVER a benefit.

As I was talking to Ying Khai on reading people(one of our many unique conversations), I realised that one who is truly a learner, must always strive to maintain a balance between the extremes. Being read through and through is one thing, not being read at all is another.

A good book cannot be good if it cannot be read.

Thus, one must always exercise a degree of transparency along with a relevant amount of discretion. It's like a seesaw. Once one gets to the balancing point and the center of things(be it principles or approach to life), one can experience the highs/ups and lows/downs in life much more stably

Today,my friend commented on my so-called habit of putting two smilies. She said it was unnecessary. However, I always want something a little more than ordinary. Two smiles are ALWAYS better than one

COCONUT JUICE ANYONE?

Someone Cracked The Coconut

This Quote, drilled into my head (voluntarily ) by a certain tall and brilliant hardworker, manifested itself in a funny way today; among the many other times that I found it to be undeniably true.

"The English language is not an instrument of mathematical precision, if it were, our literature would be much poorer." - LORD DENNING. (brought to me by his unsworn and diligent apprentice.)

As usual, the precision of language seem to fail us most during the dreaded maelstroms of misunderstandings and misperceptions. For those are the times WE, mere humans, unconsciously allow our imperturbability(native or not) to be swept by a spate of mounting hysteria. It usually happens Very, very, very, very unknowingly.

So I figured, we should then switch to BM to solve misunderstandings. After all, most of the expressions in BM only have one word coined for it, most of which are borrowed words. That would solve much, wouldn't it? For instance, 'happy' ,'delighted', 'gay', 'joyous' etc can be summed up into one word : GEMBIRA

Life would be so much easier and misinterpretation avoided.

NO?

NO.

Lessening the avenues for expression can NEVER solve us failing to getting our intentions through. For our nature as expressive beings has always been and always will be, to look for a better and clearer way to express ourselves. Blogging is one very good example: Language being used as a medium to transport one's entire day or one's entire week or for people like me, one's entire month of thoughts and experiences to whoever that passes by. However,I always remind myself that what I see prima facie, may not necessarily be (and is almost always not) what one originally meant it to mean.

Thus, this brings me back to the quote. I am utterly thankful that English is not about precision and that it's only a Medium, not a Matter on its own by which we derive conclusions from. There are always many other factors to consider before concluding a judgement on one's statements. The most important one of all being the HEART. There is an unseen liberty that is brought through by those immortal words spoken by Lord Denning. We should never be bound by the inadequacy of language but rather be freed in knowing that our capacity of comprehension far surpasses what mere language can account for.
